STEng @ $3.14

Buy @ $3.14. Buy more to average down. Seller CP '73' – Macquarie and '78' – ML. 😀

As expected, Egypt problem seems to have been resolved. US have too much to lose from a disorderly change in regime due to the Middel East peace plan with Israel and Oil, so an orderly change is always the logical outcome. Let's see if the people of Egypt is happy with another designated replacement in the coming days.

Although the STI is rebounding (now +30 @ 3108), foreign funds outflow from Singapore (to US and Europe) is likely to continue as US is showing signs of recovery.  But, STI may be ok for a while as Budget Day is on 18-Feb and 'feel good' goodies are expected.

STEng @ $3.16

Buy @ $3.16. Continue to drop in tandem with STI (-39 @ 3111 or -1.24%). Seller CP '08' – CS and '73' – Macquarie, same ones as before. 😀

STEng @ $3.215

Buy @ $3.23. Continue to drop! Q'd early in the AM and got done when I was out. Seller CP  '08' – CS , '73' – Macquarie, '78' – ML, looks like a co-ordinated sell-down! 😀

Buy @ $3.20. Q'd since I came back from lunch and saw the new prices. The 10ct margin I was expecting from the dividend has almost been wiped out as it dropped from my 1st entry price of $3.27! Seller CP '73' – Macquarie.

STEng @ $3.27

Buy @ $3.27. Using FY10 data, PE = 22.12 and Yield = 4.061%. Not that attractive actually. But, was reminded during CNY gathering that the EPS for the past 3 Quarters were better than FY09 (there was the worrying trend of EPS dropping from FY07 to FY09). Also, their Payout is usually 90% (FY09)  to 100% (FY05 to FY08), so I'd expect at least 10.75ct dividend for 2H10 (to be announced on 15-Feb), assuming a Q410 EPS of at least 3.8ct and a Payout Ratio of 90% (can be higher if any of these 2 are higher or lower if vice versa).  The EPS and DPS for the past few years,

 FY10 (1st 3 Qs)  : EPS = 11.48ct ; DPS = 3ct (1H)
 FY09 : EPS = 14.78ct ; DPS = 13.28ct (2H = 11.48ct / 1H = 3ct)
 FY08 : EPS = 15.82ct ; DPS = 15.8ct (2H = 12.8ct / 1H = 3ct)
 FY07 : EPS = 16.95ct ; DPS = 16.88ct (2H = 14.88ct / 1H = 2ct)
 FY06 : EPS = 15.15ct ; DPS = 15.11ct
 FY05 : EPS = 13.64ct ; DPS = 13.6ct

It's a new share in my portfolio (had it before but previously sold all) and I'm in this more as a short term dividend play. But, will hold for longer term if it drops (likely will buy more to average down). Low volume, Seller '08' – CS. 😀

STEng @ $2.75

Sell @ $2.75. Q’d to sell at open and it went up further all the way to $2.82 after it was done. 😀
