If they can maintain their dividend payout for the rest of the year, Yield is still a high ~9%. But, market does look weak after the recent run… Perhaps due for a pull back? Free up some cash first, especially since I'd bought quite a fair bit of UMS recently…:D

Decided to add more to my collection. Looks like yesterday's rise to close at $0.57 and this AM to $0.58 may be due to traders after all. I was in the Q to sell before market opened but made the mistake (on hindsight) of withdrawing it. Still, the Yield @ 9.26% is something to think about… assuming they can sustain it in the longer term, especially during down cycles. Note that BB ratio had slipped below 1 (0.98) recently… 😀

After reading the latest article in TheEdge on the recent AMAT-TCL merger proposal, I start to notice buying interest at $0.52 in the late morning. I was hoping to slowly collect, if possible below $0.52, leading up to xd (for 1ct) on 8-Oct but decided to grab some immediately.

Actually, there's nothing new in the article which I'd posted at talkstock blog. Any impact of this huge merger (if it goes thro') will only come much after it's completed (2H14). So, possibly earliest only in 2015 before we see any thing.

But, from the article, CEO was quoted as he'll be going to AMAT USA in the coming weeks for business meetings. Most likely, if I were to refer to the previous TheEdge interview, he may be going to look for further biz (besides the current Endura lineup). That'd be the potential positive… 😀

The latest prelim BB = 0.98 for Aug-13, which is not so good news, but this was in the Q2 forward statement of a "breather" in Q3 and possibly Q4. Nevertheless, take the risk to buy at my highest price ever. I suppose with US on the recovery path and possibly Europe having seen the worst, consumer demands ought to be on the uptrend.

Currently, cd for 1ct, xd on 8-Oct.  ðŸ˜€

Add to my holdings. STI is back to -ve again after the +ve yesterday which broke a 10-days -ve streak. 😀

Slowly add more to my holdings as and when there're any in sell Q. 😀

From recent news and FED minutes, US recovery looks good. Even Europe is showing early signs of recovery. This ought to translate to stronger consumer demands and spending. The possible negative is Asia, with Indonesia, India and Thailand showing signs of financial stress… In the worst case, there're some who see AFC-II…

I think UMS, with their main customer being Applied Materials (US co.) ought to provide some defensive balancing to my portfolio if they get to enjoy a US  recovery + stronger US$.

UMS @ $0.51

Buy @ $0.51

Finally got to buy back some, but higher than the price I'd sold… 1ct dividend / Quarter being maintained as cash flow remains strong. But, they have given a forward guidance that the next Q or 2 will likely be weak. From VB thread, even in the worst case of losses, cash flow is still enough to mainatin a 5-6ct total dividend payout for the year. Take the risk… 😀

UMS @ $0.485

Sell @ $0.485

Decided to clear my entire stake. With STI having dropped 200pts+ over the past week, UMS is one of the rare few which I'd bought recently which remained profitable. Much as I'd like to keep it to enjoy the upcycle of their biz, I have run out of free cash and I need funds to but into other stocks taht'd dropped a lot, more than STI in % terms. 😀

Saw some @ $0.47 during 5pm matching and tried to Jump-Q. Ended up only partially done @ $0.475 as someone else beat me to it! With the minimum $25 brokerage, it's $0.48! 😀
