FCL @ $1.425

Buy @ $1.425

Add back to my portfolio. xd today for 1.73ct but dropped more, -6ct. So, where're all the 'Special Situations' players and what are they doing??

I did a quick comparison with CDL & Capitaland … again. Since the last study (day of FCL listing), both prices had dropped, CDL -8.8% ; Capitalnd -5.76%. FCL is -5.94% vs $1.515 (my entry price back then) or -9.5% @ $1.575 (my exit price). It hit a high of $1.72/3… At current prices, the discount to NAV is 24% (using $1.88) or 32.8% (using $2.12).

Thus, a quick decision to buy… Itchy fingers.. If stuck then wait to see if they list Frasers Hospitality Trust and hope for it to recover by then… 😀

Popular Hldgs @ $0.23

Sell @ $0.23

Contra off some when there was a sudden buy up. I cleared whatever was left in the $0.23 Buy Q and must have triggered some heavy selling back to $0.22-$0.225 levels.. I was hoping Shares Buy Back had been activated but doesn't seem so.. 😀

Popular Hldgs @ $0.223

Buy @ $0.225, $0.22

Just doing my job to provide some support to the share price… The coming Q3 (Jan) results is seasonally their best but with Q2 having turned in a loss plus weakness in EPS since 2013, I'm not too surprised at the recent continued price weakness… Shares Buy Back was last seen on 7-Aug-13…  Cash level had also been declining since 2013… A rather gloomy future…

My original intention was to reduce my stake but at today's prices, I decided to take a bet… by buying… I'm not expecting any positive surprise for the coming results as 8Raja sales had been pathethic.. only a couple of units and unlikely to turn in a profit. Still, the Dec period is the time for them to make the most EPS and likely to stay above 1ct (1.2 to 1.4ct for previous years). The wild card will be Shares Buy Back… but I'm not placing too much hopes..

Going forward, biz ought to stay profitable, even if it continues to decline. 2014 ought to see the completion of their new office cum warehouse and result in some savings from rental expenses… Let's see..

But, I may still suddenly cut off my entire stake if there're better alternatives… 😀

RafflesMed @ $2.98

Buy @ $2.98, $2.97 (only 1 lot)

A new addition to my curent portfolio. It's been a long while since prices dropped below $3. Not exactly cheap as PE = 28.3 (FY12) or a bit better @ 26.26 (last 4 Qs) and not a Yield Stock as Yield = 1.51%. I'm betting more on Growth, which had been aro' 10%+ in the last couple of years. This may be slowing down but the recent news is their having secured a plot of land next to current Raffles Hospital for expansion. But, this will take around a couple of years to realise… Lastest Cash = $146Mil (26.4ct / share) and negligible debts, but, the bulk of this will likely be used for the Hospital land and construction.. Still, I see Cash growing at ~$20Mil / Q in their Balance Sheet..

I ought to hold this for long term… but had not been disciplined enough… always taking profits just for a few cents.. 😀

Vard @ $0.825

Sell @ $0.825

Decided to sell my entire stake with huge realised losses… But, resulted in a slight improvement to Net Worth as it was marked to market at end-Jan price of $0.82 in my spreadsheet… Small consolation…

With US -2% last night, STI was also impacted. Many stocks were -ve but Vard was surprisingly strong, dropping not as much in %. My Buyer CPs were locals – CIMB & MayBank Kim Eng. IIRC, both brokerages have analysts which covers Vard quite extensively. Looking at the buying support today, I won't be very surprised if their analysts had prior positive insider info from their regular engagement with Vard mgmt… An optimistic scenario would be Vard Brazil Niteroi yard have seen the worst and for Q4, EPS will show continued improvement… possibly >2ct?? plus a Div of 1ct++??

Anyway, I made the decision to switch to other stocks… May get vested again if it drops below 80ct.. depending on alternatives, as always.. 😀

STEng @ $3.74

Buy @ $3.74

Average down my previous buy. FY results will be out in a couple of weeks's time (last year on 15-Feb). No worries if need to hold for longer term. Yield 4.45% (so-so) and PE just dropped below 20 (also so-so). But, looks ok compared to recent prices… 😀

NeraTel @ $0.70

Sell @ $0.70

Contra off the 2 recent Buys as due and mkt continues it's slide… STI dropped below 3000, which means many stocks just got cheaper…  😀

Genting @ $1.365

Buy @ $1.365

Another buy to average down my $1.43 ones. Sands results should be out soon and give us a good indicator of the casino biz..

The Year of the Snake has ended with a whimper… with STI -4.43% since the beginning of the year. It started out in a bullish mood for the first 4 mths of 2013, but, the rest of the year was a struggle… Defensive trades, hit-and-run was the way to go..

Let's see how 2014 plays out… With US in much better shape and being taken off "Life Support" aka QE3 & Europe crisis seemingly having cleared the worst, we ought to see better economic data in the coming months? But, now, the shift is to problems in Emerging Market… Well, it looks like market will always need to have some crisis in the fore-front.. 😀

UMS @ $0.585

Sell @ $0.585

Contra off my most recent buy. I need cash  to buy others which'd dropped while UMS remains steady.. Switching in action… 😀

NeraTel @ $0.695

Buy @ $0.695

Went to create support by putting a Buy, first in Q. After the whole day, only partailly done… CP = MSCO selling 1 lot at a time.. They have been my CP since many transactions back… I wonder who…??? 😀
