Sarin @ $1.40

Sell @ $1.40

Only 2 lots done, driving my unit price to $1.3875 due to the minimum $25 commission. If it's any consolation, it's still higher than the $1.36 ones I'd sold earlier. The buy-sell spread is just too wide and volume too low for me to sell more. Will continue to sell at aro' $1.40 for my balance lots, no rush, can keep for the dividends also. 😀

Kingsmen @ $0.875

Sell @ $0.875

My last lots, no more left. After queueing before it finally got done, it proceeded to hit higher and closed @ $0.89. Looks like another stock which I'd sold too early! STI closed @ 3313.03, +24.5. Nice, so many '3's, above 3300 again. Looks like Cyprus bailout has become a distant memory… 😀

STX OSV @ $1.2275

Buy @ $1.23 & $1.225

The $1.225 ones were done by Jump-Q during 5pm matching. This one is not enjoying the bullishness of the mkt today. Most likely, Oz is still selling? If so, will have to wait till they've sold their balance holdings or STX OSV to announce more orders before share price can recover. In the meantime, am slowly buying back with every drop and have not hit my previous level yet. At this rate, we may even see it dropping below $1.22, the previous Offer price! I think I better stop my buying….:D

Kingsmen @ $0.8617

Sell @ $0.86, $0.865

Didn't manage to sell all, left some lots. Have decided to continue with my divestment even though mkt seems bullish as Cyprus issue seems resolved. Will look at it again below 85ct, ideally closer to 80ct. 😀

Popular Hldgs @ $0.295

Sell @ $0.295

Decided to clear the balance of my recent buys. Take profit 1st as market is likely to stay uncertain till Cyprus issue is resolved. I doubt that I'll be able to buy back at 26.5ct (1 bid above their highest Share Buy-Back price) as the next results will be for Q4 (declared 0.8ct Final Div last year). For now, set my indicative buy back price @ 28ct or ideally lower ie. 27ct to 27.5ct. Will revise again depending on market condition. I may sell more from my existing ones if it hit 30ct and above and market condition is bearish… 😀

Sinarmas @ $0.405 / Sinarmas W151118 @ $0.23

Sell Sinarmas @ $0.405 / Sell Sinarmas W151118 @ $0.23 (Odd Lot)

From my records, I did a Buy @ $2.63 on 18-Jul-96, 17 years ago! IIRC, it was known as Amcol back then and they had the lucrative distribution rights for Sony products in Indonesia + other biz (can't remember what else). I do remember my reason was more for short term trading as the share price had been trending steadily upwards and the little fundamental analysis I did seems to indicate a profitable company. How unlucky I was as it got suspended immediately after my buy! CAD was involved and someone finally went to jail. The profitable biz apparently wasn't that profitable or the insiders was siphoning money out or both, can't remember now. IIRC, it stayed suspended until an Indonesia White Knight was found and a reverse takeover effected, It was renamed AFP (Asia Food & Properties). Along the way, I was given Golden Agri (Food Biz) & Bund Centre (Shanghai Properties) shares (already sold) when they streamlined their biz into separate listed cos. It focussed solely on properties and was renamed Sinarmas, I don't remember why they gave the warrants. I don't have the total, but I probably ended up not losing that much money due to the shares given to shareholders in other listed cos.

I finally decided to sell today when I was looking at the share price and realised it'd gone up quite a bit just last week. No idea why as I'd not been following the biz….

Lesson Learnt : Don't speculate, it's totally different from taking calculated risks. 😀

Popular Hldgs @ $0.295

Sell @ $0.295

Partially done, didn't even know some were done on Friday until I was doing my payment (as overdued)! Fortunately, only added ~0.1ct to the unit cost as 22 lots done.

Share price remains rather strong as compared to the weaker market sentiment. Cyprus bailout is now in limbo as it'd been voted down by their Parliament. This issue will likely cause uncertainty to drag for a while. Good for trading only! 😀

STX OSV @ $1.2425

Buy @ $1.24, $1.245

Close to 5pm, only 2 lots were done for my $1.24 Q. Considering that the minimum brokerage will drive my unit price to $1.2525 if not fully done, I decided to buy some at $1.245. Ended up all the $1.24 ones were also done. Fortunately, I was playing small-small.. 😀

Popular Hldgs @ $0.29

Sell @ $0.29

Contra off half, keep the other half as I got greedy. My target price was $0.275 to $0.28. To me, Q3 results shows that their earnings decline may not be as bad as I'd thought previously (from Q1 & Q2 financials). Will need to study Q4 (Apr) to confirm. May not drop back to 26.5ct level, will have to re-think my target prices….:D

Memstar @ $0.095

Sell @ $0.095 with odd lots @ $0.071

One of my legacy stock from 2000-03. Used to be called Mediastream and I'd bought some upon the strong recommendation of a a reservist friend who's a banker. He claims to know the majority controlling shareholder (George Thia) very well and rates him to be as astute a deal maker as Simon Cheong (SC Global). Guess what? IIRC, George Thia ended up in the losing end when he used the company to acquire money losing biz… Claims he was misled and ended up in court cases. Not once, but at least twice!

It subsequently went into JM (Judicial Management – Bankruptcy Protection) and after several attempts by the Judicial Manager, found a white knight (China company) which agreed on a reverse takeover. The company was renamed and the core biz in Membranes used for Water Filtration. There was a subsequent 10-for-1 Shares Consolidation (ended up with odd lots). Needless to say, I suffered huge losses. Fortunately, I was a much smaller player back then. Still, a few Grands…

On 19-Jan, the majority shareholders announced an agreement to place out  350Mil (13.13%) of their shares @ 10ct to another listed co., United Envirotech. Prior to that, I'd observe the share price rocketing above 10ct, ought to have sold then but got greedy. It subsequently dipped below 10ct after the deal was announced and was in recent times, trading closer to 9ct. Although the company is now a lot more profitable, my stake is now rather tiny and I have decided to cut it off from my portfolio. I have also not been following the biz very closely, perhaps too painful… haha…

Lesson Learnt back then… Do Your Own Homework! Don't throw in Good Money after Bad Money ie. Average Down Stocks with Poor Fundamentals… Cut Loss when Fundamentals is Confirmed to be Poor (Would have lost lesser $$)… 😀

Let's hope & pray I won't repeat such mistakes again as the stakes are now a lot higher! 😀
